How to Stop a Panic Attack
Have you just about had it with anxiety and panic attacks? Do you want to know how to stop a panic attack? I used to fear having panic attacks from the first moment I woke up. I was at the end of my rope. My heart would point and I was sweating uncontrollably. Was I about to die? Sometimes I couldn't even feel my hands and feet.
Gladly, panic attacks are no longer a part of my life. Follow this advice to end anxiety attacks:
These are just some of the basics. Get a strong handle on these, and you can control your panic attacks.
Breathing — Control your breathing and you will soon be able to control your panic attacks. Controlled breath will help you start to turn down the dials on your panic attacks. Controlled breathing is key to mastering your panic attacks. Using breathing you can calm yourself in as little as five minutes. Negative thoughts begin to flood your mind during a panic attack. Regain focus by taking slow breaths in through your nose and out your mouth. Panic attacks start with breathing, so this is where you must stop them.
Stretching — Stretching will relieve some of the stress that can build up to a panic attack. Your body will be more relaxed with regular stretching. You'll see the benefits in your mindset too. You are more relaxed and you can handle new things. Regular stretching will also greatly reduce the strength of a panic attack. Stretching will help you be more aware of your body and allow you to stay in control when a panic attack starts.
Gratitude — When you approach life with a positive mental attitude, you'll find that panic attacks simply just don't happen any more. Start each day by making a list of what you are grateful for. Even if you're thankful for something as basic as being able to see or read. No matter what is happening in your life, there is always something to be thankful for. This will start you focusing on the positive things in the world. When you start to change your focus in life, you'll find that the panic attacks just fall away.
